Inspector's notes

Observed significant amount of flies inside the kitchen at the time of inspection. The school is located near a large agricultural operation and routinely experiences increased incidence of pest activity during this time of year. Flies were not coming into contact with any food at the time of inspection. Discussed installing sticky traps throughout the kitchen, but not over food preparation or storage areas, with the kitchen manager. The establishment shall maintain the premises free of pests to prevent contamination of food and food contact surfaces. Corrective Action: Correct prior to next routine inspection.

Priority Foundation-5-103.11, Pf: Capacity-Quantity and Availability. Observed kitchen operating without hot water. Per PIC, hot water heater will be repaired during upcoming school break. Temporary solution in place for the one remaining school day- water boiled for washing dishes in three compartment sink and alternative handwashing set up filling a container with a spout with warm water. A re-inspection will be conducted immediately after school re-opens from break. Correct By: Correct Prior To Reinspection
