Privacy
PlateScore is a free public tool. It carries no advertising, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind, and nothing about you is ever sold or shared for marketing. The one thing we count is how many times each page is requested each day, with nothing recorded about who requested it — no address, no browser, no session. This page describes exactly what is collected and how to remove it.

If you don't sign in, we collect nothing about you
Searching, browsing inspection records, using the map and reading the lists require no account and set no cookies of ours. Our hosting provider records ordinary server logs (including IP address) for delivery and security, as any web host does.
The map loads its background tiles from OpenFreeMap. Requesting those tiles reveals your IP address to that service, as loading any third-party image would. Nothing about which restaurant you looked at is sent to it.
If you do sign in
An account exists for one purpose: saving restaurants and emailing you when they are inspected. We hold:
- Your email address, so alerts can reach you. If you sign in with Google we receive your email address, name and profile picture from Google — nothing else, and we never gain access to your Google account.
- The restaurants you save, stored as county permit numbers.
- Whether alerts are on, and a record of which alerts have already been sent, so the same one is never sent twice.
That is the entire list. We do not build a profile of you, infer anything from your saved restaurants, or use them for any purpose beyond sending the alerts you asked for.
Who else handles it
These services process data on our behalf so the site can function:
- Vercel — hosting and server logs.
- Clerk — accounts, sign-in and session cookies.
- Supabase — the database holding saved restaurants and settings.
- Resend — delivery of alert emails.
- Google — only if you choose to sign in with Google.
- OpenFreeMap — map background tiles.
Data is stored in the United States.
Removing your data
You can remove saved restaurants and turn alerts off at any time from your Favorites page; removal is immediate.
To delete your account, open the account menu in the top right, choose Manage account, then Delete account. Deleting the account also deletes your saved restaurants, your settings, and the record of which alerts you have already been sent. It is permanent and we cannot undo it.
You can also email platescore-support@googlegroups.com from the address on the account to have it deleted, or to ask what is held about you.
Saved restaurants and settings are kept until you delete them or your account. The record of already-sent alerts is kept only so duplicates are not sent.
Inspection data is public record
Everything shown about restaurants comes from Maricopa County Environmental Services public records. It concerns businesses, not individuals, and is republished here as public information. If you operate an establishment and believe a record is wrong, the county holds the authoritative copy and corrections to it must be made there. Anything we add ourselves — scores, aliases, labels, cited recognitions — we correct on request; see how corrections work.
Children
PlateScore is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
