#8 — Hands Clean and Properly WashedPriority2-301.14

Inspector's notes

Employee entered the kitchen from outside, then put on gloves and went to put away food items in the walk in cooler without washing hands. The PIC stated that the employee would be properly trained on when to wash hands. Discussed the importance of proper hand washing and when hand washing is required with the person-in-charge (PIC). Hands must be washed at any time contamination occurs, when donning gloves, and when changing tasks. Corrective Action: Corrected at time of inspection. After discussion with the person in charge, it has been determined that the root cause of the violation was training staff and a verification breakdown which resulted in the violation.
