Observed the establishment offering plastic forks and spoons for self service with the opposite part of the handle being exposed. Knives, forks, and spoons that are not prewrapped shall be presented so that only the handles are touched by employees and by consumers if consumer self-service is provided. Employee flipped the utensils at the time of inspection. Corrective Action: Corrected at time of inspection.

Upon inspection, a remodel has taken place which may require an application and plans to be submitted, and/or additional permits. Establishment has installed and was observed using a commercial steamer for which a reduced pressure zone (RPZ) backflow assembly is required and is currently not installed. Please submit an application, supporting documentation, and fees within 5 business days or legal action may result pursuant to MCEHC Chapter 1, Regulation 4(e). Applications with supporting documentation can be submitted via the customer portal "Permit Center" online at maricopacountyaz-energovweb.tylerhost.net/apps/selfservice#/home.
Inspector's notes
Observed in-use commercial steamer without approved backflow prevention for which manufacturer's directions state a check valve is required at the water line. Provide an approved backflow device prior to re-inspection. For high-hazard connection where backpressure is possible, a Reduced Pressure Zone (RPZ) backflow assembly is required. RPZ must be installed at least 12 inches above the floor sink and hub drain line must be routed to nearest floor sink with a 1-inch air gap. Usage of copper or brass materials for water line downstream of RPZ is prohibited. All testable backflow devices must be certified. Corrective Action: Correct prior to re-inspection. Follow up tentatively scheduled for 9/16/2025.
