Lid of compartment also observed to be dented and in disrepair. Unit is located directly across stovetop (heat source) allowing air to seep in. Lower drawer compartment of prep cooler in question measured at an ambient temperature of 41.8'F. No internal fans observed in tabletop compartments. PIC agreed to not use middle tabletop compartment until unit has been repaired to full capacity to support coldholding in tabletop compartments. Ensure lid is closed at all other times except active prep to ensure heat is not seeping in to bring food out of temperature. Suggested PIC hot air from heat sources and broken lid is preventing unit from keep tabletop compartment at 41'F or below.
