Person in charge (PIC) states if a meal is not picked up by a student at lunchtime, it is placed in standing refrigerator, and discarded by end of day if not picked up. PIC states that cooling of leftover meals is not monitored. Discussed with PIC holding leftover meals in hotbox at 135*F or above until end of day and discard if not picked up.

The reverse osmosis system feeds a tank and water tap. These is no observed approved testable continuous pressure backflow prevention assembly down stream of the unit between the unit and copper piping. The person in charge indicated that the system was installed +2 years before inspection. Person in charge was informed that an approved testable continuous pressure backflow prevention assembly (such as a RPZ or spill proof vacuum breaker) is required between the system and copper piping because RO units can acidify water which can strip copper from piping. The establishment may also removed the RO cartridge; if the RO cartridge is removed a approved testable continuous pressure backflow prevention assembly would not be required. Inspector will look for this at the next routine inspection.
