#13 — Food in Good Condition, Safe and UnadulteratedPriority foundation3-202.15

Inspector's notes

Observed in the canned goods aisle 2 cans of Red Gold Sloppy Joe, one with a deep dent on the side and one with a dent on the bottom, causing the bottom lip of the can to warp; a can of Seasoned Butter Beans with a deep dent on the side seam; a can of Hunt's Pasta Sauce with a deep dent in the side; a can of Campbell's Loaded Potato Soup with a deep dent in the side; and a can of Chef Boyardee Lasagna with a deep dent on the bottom, causing the bottom lip of the can to warp. Damaged cans were embargoed. Discussed with manager that cans with deep dents, especially on the seams of the cans, should not be stocked as the denting many compromise the cans and allow for outside contamination. Corrective Action: Corrected at time of inspection.
