#23 — Proper Date Marking and DispositionPriority3-501.18

Inspector's notes

-- In the walk-in refrigerator, multiple single-serve cartons of 1% low-fat milk were observed with ‘best by’ dates of 8/26/26. All ready-to-eat (RTE) and time/temperature control for safety (TCS) foods found exceeding their ‘best by’ dates were voluntarily discarded by the Person in Charge (PIC) at the time of inspection. Discussed with the PIC the importance of frequently checking the dates on all commercially packaged foods and beverages, and ensuring they follow the manufacturer’s suggested ‘best by’ or expiration dates for safe consumption. Corrective Action: Corrected at time of inspection.
