Inspector's notes

Observed chemical dispensing system connected downstream from the atmospheric vacuum breaker at the mop sink faucet. Shut-off devices, including chemical dispensing systems and spray nozzles, shall not be continuously installed downstream from an atmospheric vacuum breaker. Person in charge was advised to discontinue this configuration and connect the chemical dispensing system to an approved dedicated water line with appropriate backflow prevention. Repair plumbing to a state of good repair to provide appropriate backflow prevention. The chemical dispenser should be supplied by an approved dedicated water line, instead of the mop-sink faucet with the atmospheric vacuum breaker. This is the SECOND consecutive violation. Corrective Action: Correct prior to next routine inspection.

Observed chemical dispenser downstream from atmospheric vacuum breaker at mop sink. Discussed with person in charge placing a work order to have staff disconnect chemical dispenser from the vacuum breaker faucet to its own dedicated line. Observed unused water lines in mop sink area, suggested using one of these two lines. Shut-offs, including chemical dispensers and sprayer nozzles, are not approved for continuous installation downstream from atmospheric vacuum breakers. Must repair all plumbing to a state of good repair prior to next routine inspection. Corrective Action: Correct prior to next routine inspection.
