Inspector's notes
Observed customer at the front register with a large dog. Observed dog’s front paws resting on the front checkout counter. Owner of dog stated the dog was not a service animal. The customer and their dog left without the person in charge's intervention. Live animals prohibited on premises of food establishment, with the exception of fish in aquariums, shellfish, patrol dogs (in certain areas), service animals, pets in dining areas of institutional care facilities (when conditions in Code are met), confined animals in nonfood area of variety store or tourist park. Provided ADA guidance document electronically. Ensure only service animals are allowed in food establishments. Discussed questions that may be asked to determine if an animal is a service animal. Corrective Action: Corrected at time of inspection.
