Final construction inspection for the Retail Grocery permit. Construction complete and approved.Store has brought in two home style freezers which are not commercially rated. Please replace as soon as possible with a commercial unit.Please send a picture of the new unit to (602)526-6171The men's room needs some grout touchup which the superintendent will take care of.Permit issued Eating and Drinking Class II 0-9 Seating.This establishment/operation has been evaluated and qualifies for the issuance of the permit. To complete the permitting process, meaning issuance of this permit, and begin operation, the applicant must first submit payment of the annual operating permit fee to the Department’s Administrative Services. Pre-final walk trough with superintendent. The following items were discussed:1). Grout will be touched up where there are holes in the grouting in the restrooms. Tile will be finished up at the back room entrance.2). Where the base is loose in the back room it will be re-attached.3). Wall penetrations will be finished out at the walls near the soda system, both sides.4). Where the FRP is cut wide, please fill in and push the escutcheon back.5). Mop sink at the subway side will be caulked in.6). Side door will receive a threshold and door sweep.7). First walk through of the Carioca Store with the superintendent. The following items were discussed:1). FDA code requires doors or a air curtain at the entrance of the restrooms. Please provide.2). Grout is being touched up where recessed, floor is grouted to the wall throughout and in the restrooms, recessed grout is touched up to be flush with the tile.3). Back room with ice machine and first back room with sinks will all be based out including along the electrical raised slab. Front beverage counter and island will also receive coved base. Same for Subway sales area cove and subway support room.4). Separate water line for chemical dispensers is in at the mop sinks.5). Several areas will receive a washable tile, subway area, subway front service area, gas station prep room and gas station room with ice machines.6). Water treatment will be a filter system and not RO. Plumbing is not in place but will probably be installed after filter is installed. Try to keep the surface mounting limited.If there is an RO system make sure to install a RPZ backflow valve upstream and no copper or brass for water lines and fittings downstream.7). In the walk-in all control joints will be filled in, tile transition will be finished out.8). Coved metal base will be installed on all walls including wall with doors.9). All penetrations through the walk-in walls and ceiling will be filled and finished out.10). Noted only a few lights in the restroom over the stalls, this will need to be evaluated. 20 foot candles is required and some stalls might be in the shadow of the walls if the lights are too directional.11). Drain lines for the water vending machine seems to be in place, same for coffee counter. The 3/4 inch line may not be sufficient for the drainage of the soda station. If needed install an additional 2"ABS drain stand pipe under the soda station and lead through the wall to the floor sink. The soda company can then lead the flex hoses into the stand pipe.12). Backflow valves will be installed per plan RP for soda system and other carbonated beverage machines and dual check valves that meet plumbing standard ASSE 1022 or Watts SD-3 as plan specifies. If the water machine has an RO system inside a Reduced Pressure Valve will need t be installed upstream.All testable valves will require testing and certification before final.13). Chase lines for soda as well as wall penetrations for soda bundles will need to be finished out smooth and easily cleanable.14). Beverage counter back splash will be sealed to the wall after cleaning.Construction is at about 70%. No County legal action will result from this inspection.E-mailed report.
