#39 — Contamination Prevented during Food Preparation, Storage and DisplayCore3-307.11

Inspector's notes

Observed rust and cracked surfaces inside the ice freezer near the frozen foods. These cracked areas and the rust increase the risk of contamination. The ice can be consumed, increasing the risk of injury or illness. Discussed with person in charge (PIC) that all equipment that is used to store consumable items needs to be smooth, easily cleanable, and maintained in good repair. Ice freezer needs to be repaired or replaced by next routine inspection. Corrective Action: Correct prior to next routine inspection.
