Establishment was observed adding commercially prepared hemp seed granola, whey and plant-based protein powder blends, and collagen to smoothies and bowls. Any substance(s) added to food must be GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe) and/or used consistent with all legal requirements. The permit holder is responsible for ensuring that their menu items comply. Education was provided on the addition of food additives and dietary supplements during the inspection. Discussed importance of proper sanitizer levels with the PIC and cleaning process (wash, rinse, and sanitize) with PIC. Discussed with PIC that according manufacturer instructions of the quat sanitizer establishment utilizes for sanitizing dishes, dishes must be submerged in solution between 150-400ppm for a minimum of 1 minute and allowed to fully air dry prior to use to properly sanitize and prevent wet chemicals from getting into food.
