Inspector's notes

Person in charge stated that thermometer gauge of walk-in in wall was currently not functional. Observed an in-unit thermometer with a 18*F discrepancy, reading 18*F lower inside walk-in. Discussed having a functional thermometer to read ambient temperature and ways to accurately monitor temperature of unit. Person in charge repurposed an extra thermometer from a different unit and brought it to the walk-in. Corrective Action: Corrected at time of inspection.

Inspector's notes

Observed a build-up of ice on the back of the compressor unit in walk-in freezer. Ice build-up expanded and broke apart tube insulation for the pipes of the unit. Discussed addressing the ice and repairing the insulation to ensure the longevity of the life of the unit. All equipment must be maintained in good repair at all times. Repair all equipment to a state of good repair prior to next routine inspection. Corrective Action: Correct prior to next routine inspection.

Inspector's notes

Observed male staff member use cash register and transition to make customer ice cream cone, employee choked up on cone past the wrap bare hand contacting it. Inspector requested employee discard ice cream and wash hands before making another cone. Discussed using the paper provided on the cones to minimize bare handing consumables and to wash hands between contaminating tasks.
