Copper and copper alloys such as brass may not be used in contact with a food that has a pH below 6 such as vinegar, fruit juice, or wine or for a fitting or tubing installed between a backflow prevention device and a carbonator. Establishment must replace brass/copper alloy fittings between the reverse osmosis filtration system and the back flow device prior to re-inspection. Construction inspection for a Class 2 Food Processor permit was conducted with owner Patrick C. by appointment. The establishment was open and operating at time of inspection. The facility has a water dispenser spout and Kangen water system installed to the left of the handwash sink. Both items are for personal use only. No customers are served in the facility. Please address the following items prior to the routine inspection: 1) Remove the small portion of copper and brass located downstream of the RO reduced pressure backflow preventer.2) Continue providing rubber cove base to the floor/wall junctures of the entire facility. The facility is allotted one year to work on the addition of the rubber base. 3) Provide protective light tubes with rubber end gaps for all glass florescent light or replace the lights with LED lighting units, as discussed. The facility has a tankless water heater unit dedicated to the three compartment sink. The facility also has a 40 gallon tank unit dedicated for the restrooms, handwash sink, and mop sink. MCESD inspection report was delivered via email. No County legal action will result from this inspection.

Final construction inspection for a Class 2 Food Processor permit was conducted with owner Patrick C. by appointment. The establishment was open and operating at time of inspection. This establishment/operation has demonstrated sufficient compliance to proceed with the issuance of the permit. To complete the permitting process, issuance of this permit, and begin operation, the applicant must first submit payment of the annual operating permit fee to the Department’s Administrative Services. Fees paid up to this inspection approval do not include the annual operating permit fee. PAYMENT with a credit/debit card can be made via phone at 602-506-6824, Option 2. Per MCEHC Chapter I, Regs 4 & 5, no person shall conduct an operation or operate an establishment for which a permit is required without holding the necessary and valid permit to do so. Payment with a credit/debit card can be made on-line via select “Pay a Fee” at esd.maricopa.gov. Please note that if you select payment via online, the annual operating permit fee invoice may take up to 7 business days to post online. Also, checks and money orders are accepted via US Mail. If you select payment via US Mail, for further instructions please refer to the printed invoice. No operating permit is valid, until the permit fee is received by the Department. 1) Disconnect the tube rinsing system and cap the unit. The water spout was shut off at time of inspection. All rinsing of food contact surfaces must be done in the three compartment sink. 2) Replace the copper and brass pieces downstream of the RP backflow preventer with PEX, stainless, or similar material. 3) Provide a uni-strut under the three sink drain line to ensure it maintains a 1" minimum air gap above the floor sink. 4) Continue providing rubber cove base to the floor/wall junctures of the entire facility. The facility is allotted one year to work on the addition of the rubber base. 5) Fill the concrete pitted areas behind the handwash sink to provide a smooth and flush finish. Provide additional coats of concrete sealer to the area once complete. 6) Caulk the handwash sink nearest to the roasting area with silicone to the wall. :

Plumbing inspection for a Class 2 Food Processor permit was conducted with owner Ronald C. by appointment. The project is approximately 80% complete. Please address the following items prior to the final construction inspection within 30 days: 1) Provide an additional Rheem RTEX 13 tankless water heater unit to supply the mop sink and handwash sink next to the three sink area or upsize the existing tankless unit to the RTEX 24 minimum to supply all of the sink fixtures. Please ensure an insta-hot unit is installed for the handwash sink near the roasting area. 2) Provide a mop sink/utility sink with hot and cold water. Do not install a pull out spray faucet at the mop sink. Only a rigid, swing faucet can be installed. 3) Provide a faucet with hot and cold water to the right compartment of the two compartment sink to convert it as a handwash sinks. Provide a splash guard between the compartments. 4) Install an ASSE 1013 reduced pressure backflow preventer upstream of the RO system. Ensure no copper is downstream of the backflow preventer. Certify and provide a test report. 5) Provide a faucet with hot and cold water to the left rinse, dump sink. The hot water must be 110' F minimum. 6) Provide a drain board to the left of the three compartment sink. 7) Provide FRP behind the mop sink and three compartment sink. The FRP must be installed from the top of the cove base to 12" inches minimum above the faucets. 8) Provide rubber cove base to the floor/wall junctures throughout the facility. 9) Provide a water proof concrete sealer to the exposed concrete area, as discussed. 10) Caulk-in escutcheon plates, plumbing penetrations, and electrical penetrations, as needed. 11) Provide u-shaped toilet seats in the restrooms. 12) Provide rubber cove base around the millwork/floor junctures. The facility is no longer serving a coffee drink menu at this time. In the event drinks are served in the future then an E&D permit will need to be submitted and approved by the Department. MCESD inspection report was delivered via email. No County legal action will result from this inspection.
