An employee loaded dirty dishes into soapy water in the 3-compartment sink and immediately put away sanitized dishes from the mechanical dishwasher several times without washing their hands. Discussed the importance of proper hand washing and when hand washing is required with the person-in-charge (PIC). Hands must be washed at any time contamination occurs and when changing tasks. Employee washed hands properly upon instruction. Corrective Action: Corrected at time of inspection.

Inspector's notes

The closest hand washing sink to the dishwashing area was completely blocked by a ladder and a bicycle while the station was in use and improper handwashing was observed. Ensure all hand washing sinks are available for use at all times and stocked with hot water at 100-110 degrees Fahrenheit, hand soap, and paper towels. PIC moved the objects to correct during the inspection. Corrective Action: Corrected at time of inspection.
