Observed several portioned from bulk items throughout the facility missing labels. Discussed with Person in Charge (PIC) Labeling shall contain 1) Name of Product; 2) Processor Name; 3) Processor Address or Phone Number; 4) Ingredients; 5) Approximate Weight; 6) In English. Items found dried hibiscus, utuzi, okazi leaves, red ground pepper, ground ehuru seed, ofo seed, anise seed, wedeaba spice, african red beans, red beans, tigernuts and Dokono (in refrigerator). Discussed that labels shall be added to each bag/container before placed on the floor for sale. Corrective Action: Correct prior to next routine inspection.

Inspector's notes
Observed damaged cans of tomato paste, Obiji oil and Margerine containers in shelves. Employee stated that damaged items are typically marked down for sale. Damaged packaging may allow the entry of bacteria or other contaminants into the contained food. If the integrity of the packaging has been compromised, contaminants such as Clostridium botulinum may find their way into the food. In anaerobic conditions (lack of oxygen), botulism toxin may be formed. Items were voluntarily discarded at time of inspection. Corrective Action: Corrected at time of inspection.
